The advantage

The Fairmas Trend Barometer offers the destination an up-to-date, transparent and continuous assessment of business development for the next four months (compared to the year before).

Selected hotels regularly provide Fairmas with current data and planning data on their anticipated monthly occupancy and revenue.

This data is accumulated and displayed as a percentage deviation and trend line in comparison to the year before, as a continuous 12-month index.

To ensure topicality, existing statements on business performance are compared with current planning data and/or current results and visualised at regular intervals.This way, the viewer is given a picture of the development and changes in demand at a destination.

The estimates for specific periods (trade fairs, holidays, etc.) can also be used within a destination by means of additional ad-hoc queries.

This data is accumulated and displayed as a deviation from a comparable period in the preceding year, and it is also visualised and made available as an event barometer.

Data quality

Mathematical methods cannot display a market development comprehensively and transparently for every user.

For this reason, we pursue a different objective: Selected participants present the Fairmas data pool with their own market assessment, relative to their own hotel and based on their own professional planning processes and experience. Both the trend barometer and the event barometer are based upon the statements of the individual marketplace professionals.

A more accurate trend with a current comparison of the results achieved cannot be achieved.
