After the Storm - Germany in the spotlight

In time for the Expo Real in Munich, HVS and Fairmas Gesellschaft für Marktanalysen mbH have prepared a comprehensive hotel performance analysis of a number of German cities between 2008 and year-to-date 2011. “After the storm – Germany in the spotlight”, compares the most important primary and secondary hotel markets in Germany. The historical performance data was contributed by Farimas Germany, a strategic partner of STR Global.

Berlin, 12 April 2010: Fairmas Gesellschaft für Marktanalysen has continued hiring new personnel at the start of 2010. Since 01 January 2010, AXEL WOILE (51) has been the new distribution partner of Fairmas Gesellschaft für Marktanalysen in Berlin. "Axel Woile will be focussing on the further expansion of daily benchmarking for city and holiday hotels, in order to provide the hotel industry and its representatives with a comprehensible and comprehensive market research service for Germany" says Wolfgang Gattringer, Managing Partner of Fairmas.

January 2010: Melanie Schlüter (29), is the new quality manager at Fairmas Gesellschaft für touristische Marktanalysen

Melanie Schlüter has been responsible for Quality Management at Fairmas in Berlin since 1 January. In this role she will be assisting Tanja Gerhardt, who has been in charge of support and quality management field for around a year now.

April 2009: German Hotel Performance Results announced by Joint Venture partners STR Global and Fairmas

STR Global and Fairmas, the two leading providers of market information to the German hotel industry, report on the performance figures for the German hotel market.  A year-to-year comparison of data for February 2009 shows all indices down for the country as a whole - average daily rate (ADR) fell -0.7%, occupancy -7.4% and RevPar -8.1%.  The relatively modest fall in rate was bolstered by a significant rise in year-on-year ADR for Cologne of 16.8% and insignificant decreases for Hamburg, -0.6%, and Berlin, -1.6%.
